Sweet Heat BBQ Meatballs & Little Smokies

Sweet, smoky, sticky, and just a little spicy—this crowd-pleasing appetizer from ambassador Jordan Hanger is always one of the first things to disappear. Meatballs and little smokies get coated in a rich blend of BBQ sauce, grape jelly, and sweet Thai chili sauce, then smoked until perfectly caramelized.

Steps

  1. Preheat your smoker to 225°F using Bear Mountain Red, White & BBQ pellets.
  2. Add the frozen meatballs and little smokies to a foil pan or baking dish.
  3. Pour the BBQ sauce, grape jelly, and sweet Thai chili sauce over the top. Sprinkle evenly with BBQ seasoning.
  4. Place the pan on the smoker and cook for 2 hours, stirring once halfway through the cook.
  5. Increase the smoker temperature to 375°F and continue cooking for 30 minutes to thicken and caramelize the sauce.
  6. Stir everything together until the meatballs and little smokies are evenly coated in the glaze.
  7. Remove from the smoker and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley and red pepper flakes if desired, and spoon extra sauce over the top.

Ingredients:

  • Bear Mountain Red White and BBQ Pellets
  • 1 (32 oz) bag frozen meatballs 
  • 1 (24 oz) package little smokies sausages 
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce 
  • ½ cup grape jelly 
  • ½ cup sweet Thai chili sauce 
  • 1 TBSP BBQ seasoning 


Optional Garnish

  • Fresh parsley, chopped 
  • Red pepper flakes
