Steps
- Preheat your smoker to 350°F using Bear Mountain Red, White & BBQ pellets.
- Pour the apple pie filling into a 12-inch cast iron skillet.
- Add the bourbon and cinnamon, then stir to combine.
- Evenly sprinkle the dry cake mix over the apple mixture. Do not stir.
- Arrange the sliced butter evenly across the top of the cake mix, covering as much of the surface as possible.
- Place the skillet on the smoker and cook for 45–60 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbling around the edges.
- Remove from the smoker and let cool for 10–15 minutes.
- Serve warm with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream.

- 2 (21 oz) cans apple pie filling
- ¼ cup bourbon
- 1 TSP cinnamon
- 1 box yellow cake mix (15.25 oz)
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, thinly sliced
- Vanilla ice cream, for serving
