Peach Prosciutto Pizza
What’s better than the delicious combination of peach and prosciutto? Making a pizza out of it! That’s what @Grilling_with_Jeff did here, and you’re not going to want to miss it.
Prep Time: 2 ½ hours
Cook Time: 1-2 minutes
Ingredients:
-Favorite pizza dough (I used Trader Joe’s premade dough)
-Olive oil (I recommend Queen Creek Olive Mill)
-2-3 ripe local peaches
-Grana Pardano parmesan
-Fresh mozzarella
-Prosciutto
-Black pepper
-Fresh basil
-Grey sea salt
-Bear Mountain BBQ Apple pellets
Instructions:
1) Start by getting out your favorite pizza dough and letting it rest on the counter for a couple hours.
2) Once the dough stretches without tearing and holds shape, fire up your pellet pizza oven (I used my Bighorn Pizza Oven), and pour in Bear Mountain BBQ Apple pellets to compliment the fruity peaches. Bring the oven to 900-1000 degrees.
3) Generously sprinkle a base of olive oil onto the pizza dough.
4) Place the star of the pizza, perfectly ripe local peaches, onto the dough. Then add a little parmesan, some fresh mozzarella, prosciutto, and black pepper.
5) Insert the pizza into the oven.
6) Cook the pizza, rotating often so it doesn’t burn, for 1-2 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
7) Take it out of the oven, top it with fresh basil and a little salt. You can also top it with balsamic glaze if you’d like!
8) Slice up and enjoy!
