Crab Stuffed Smoked Shrimp

Big, bold, and built for sharing, these crab-stuffed smoked shrimp are a total win for watch parties and tailgates. Bear Mountain ambassador Miguel Raya takes juicy jumbo shrimp and fills them with a rich, creamy crab mixture, then smoked low and slow and finished with a Cajun butter baste for the perfect balance of smoke, heat, and indulgence.

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, mix the cream cheese, crab meat, cheddar cheese, jalapeños, panko bread crumbs, and Cajun seasoning until fully combined.
  2. Roll the mixture into golf-ball–sized portions and set aside.
  3. Butterfly the shrimp and lay them cut-side down. Place a crab filling ball on top of each shrimp and gently tuck the shrimp tail into the filling to secure.
  4. Preheat your smoker to 225°F. Arrange the stuffed shrimp on a grill-safe tray or rack and smoke for 30 minutes.
  5. During the final 10 minutes of cooking, baste the shrimp generously with the Cajun butter.
  6. Remove from the smoker once the shrimp are cooked through and juicy. Serve hot and enjoy.

  • 2 lb. jumbo shrimp, peeled, deveined, tail-on
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 16 oz crab meat
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 3 jalapeños, finely diced
  • 1 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 1 TBSP Cajun seasoning


Cajun Butter Baste

  • 1 stick unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 TBSP Cajun seasoning
