Steps

  1. Form the ground beef into 4 equal patties and season on both sides with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. Grill over medium-high heat for 3–4 minutes per side, until cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. Roll out the pizza dough and press it into a greased ramekin or small bowl, leaving enough overhang to fold over the top.
  4. Layer inside the dough:
    American cheese → burger patty → diced onion, pickles, and tomato → burger sauce → second burger patty → more American cheese.
  5. Fold the dough over the top and pinch to seal completely. Flip so the seam side is down if needed.
  6. Brush the top with melted butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  7. Preheat your grill or smoker to 350°F using Bear Mountain Gourmet pellets. Cook for about 20 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and fully cooked.
  8. Remove, let rest for a few minutes, then slice and serve.

Ingredients:

  • Bear Mountain BBQ Gourmet Pellets
  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20), divided into 4 patties 
  • Salt, pepper, garlic powder (or preferred seasoning) 
  • Premade pizza dough 
  • 4 slices American cheese 
  • 2 TBSP diced onion 
  • 2 TBSP diced pickles 
  • 4 slices tomato 
  • 3–4 TBSP burger sauce (Thousand Island style) 
  • 1 TBSP butter, melted 
  • 1–2 TSP sesame seeds
